Kid loses battle with Albert Pujols home run

To quote the great Costanza, "That's gotta hurt!"

Albert Pujols hits one high, it’s deep, and it’s…right into the chest of some kid sitting in center field that can’t catch (nor can his parents). Kid, take it from someone that’s been on SportsCentre for being hit in the head by a foul ball: There’s no crying in baseball.

  1. Kind of reminds me of the time I almost got a foul ball on Opening Day, 2008.I was sitting on row 1 along the LF wall.
Youkilis of the Red Sox hit a foul ball that I missed because I couldn’t handle the bounce. It bounced off me, and back onto the field.
The security guard on the field took the ball, and…..flipped it to a kid that uses the cutesy routine to snag balls all the time!! He was known for it by the regulars.
I’M JUST TRYING TO REMEMBER WHICH SECURITY GUARD IT WAS, AND THE ONE I’M BUSTING HIS NUTS WITH BY WRITING THIS……..??

  2. And there was the one that ended up under his stool. I bent over to pick it up, but he got to it first, and flipped it to someone else!!! Again. I think it was Jason Bay, of the Red Sox at the time……

  3. Hmmm…I don’t know, the timeline doesn’t quite match up, but that sounds like something Cam Filipchuk would do.

  4. Nahhh….. It wasn’t him. I think he’s the new Tommy Twinkle-Toes over on the Right Field side.
