Raps lose, Bosh gets smashed out in the process

Hang in there, baby...

Hey, what do you know? The Raptors lost again (expected) and Chris Bosh suffered a “maxilla and nasal fracture to the left side of his face” (doesn’t happen everyday). Bosh got his facebone smashed by an Antawn Jamison elbow two minutes into tonight’s game, which his ever-so-competent teammates went on to lose 113-101 to the mighty Cavaliers. For those that still care, the Bulls fell to Milwaukee 79-74, keeping Toronto a game up in the final playoff spot with five to play.

I don’t know much about broken faces, but it’s already determined that Bosh is a no-go for tomorrow’s home game with Boston (a certain loss, if it wasn’t already). After that, the Raps are in Atlanta Friday, home to the Bulls Sunday, in Detroit Monday and home to wrap things up against the Knicks next Wednesday. So far the big dino is out indefinitely, so we’ll see how this plays out over the next few days. Is it possible Bosh has played his last game as a Raptor? Maaaaybe.

With Bosh out, Jarrett Jack led four Toronto bench players with 23 points and Amir Johnson chipped in 16 on 7-of-8 and 10 boards. Including Bosh’s two minutes of work, the Raps got a combined 37 points from their starting five, including five and three assists from the increasingly-hopeless Jose Calderon. On the other side, Jamison led the Cavs with 20 and some guy named LeBron James had 19 points, six rebounds and 13 assists in the win.

So, 37-38 with five to go, the last three of which should be wins even if Bosh is unable to go, though I’ve stopped counting on things like that when they can’t even beat the Warriors at home these days. We shall see, though…we shall see.
