Gameday: Raptors-Timberwolves

Jonny Flynn brings his show to the ACC tonight

It’s throwback night and I’m loving it! Tonight the Raptors don the old school Toronto Huskies jerseys and take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at the ACC — I’m calling for a 75-point win. Alright, well maybe 20. Actually, I guess I’ll take any kind of win, regardless of the score. For a preview more in-depth than mine, check in at Raptors Republic.

The T-Wolves come into this one at 3-17 but in slightly better shape than their record may indicate, having welcomed back 2008 first rounder Kevin Love over the weekend. Love, who broke his hand in the preseason, had 18 points and 10 boards in a 108-101 win over Utah on Sunday. Shockingly, Minnesota also managed to hand the Nuggets their first home loss of the season nine days ago with a 106-100 win at the Pepsi Center. Still, with Love likely still not in tip-top game shape and Al Jefferson still feeling the effects of last season’s torn ACL, the T-Wolves should be ripe for a pounding tonight. Well, at least I hope so. I’d love to be able to get used to games like Saturday’s in Chicago.

As for our boys, it would be nice to see another monster effort from Chris Bosh and some continued life out of Hedo Turkoglu. The Raptors do, however, come into this one a bit banged up: Jose Calderon is still dealing with a hip flexor suffered on Saturday, Andrea Bargnani has some ankle issues and Bosh is a tad under the weather. I’m counting on them all suiting up, though.

The Raptors and T-Wolves get it tipping tonight at seven.
