You’re all winners!

Alright, the Yankees won last night. Egg on my face. Now I go from never having cheered for the Philadelphia Phillies to being their biggest fan. Step aside, facepaint guy.

The Angels played ugly all series, so there was really no reason to expect anything otherwise last night, other than the Yankees’ history of flopping this time of year. New York won 5-2 last night, scoring three times in the fourth off shaky starter Joe Saunders, who walked five in three-plus innings, and twice off Ervin Santana and Scott Kazmir in the eighth after an Angels run had cut the lead to 3-2 in the top half.

Alex Rodriguez went 2-for-2 and walked three times, moving him to proclaim after the game that he “couldn’t be more excited” and that he feels “like a 10-year-old girl”. Well, technically he said “kid”, but it’s A-Rod, and we all know how he acts around playoff time.

Anyway, the Fall Classic gets underway Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, with CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee going head-to-head.

  1. i would love to see the phillys win but i think a yankee victory is inevitable. i predict the only phillys win will be off aj burnett. cc and pettitte are just too good.
but hopefully ill be eating my words come wednesday, would love to see the phillys pull this one out

  2. correction *phillies

  3. As loaded as the Yankees are, the Phillies pack some punch too. They made quick work of the Rockies and Dodgers, plus have a tad of World Series experience. Should be a good series…I’m hoping it goes seven.
