Jays head to Tampa Bay for much-anticipated series

Breathtaking Tropicana Field

One hundred forty-six down, 16 to go. Remember back in April and May when it looked like the Jays would make something of this season? Man, September seemed like an intriguing prospect back then. Unfortunately, it has turned into quite the opposite.

The Jays roll into Tampa Bay tonight to face the Rays for three at Tropicana Field, where the Rays have taken five of six from Toronto this season and 137 of the last 138 overall (at least it feels that way). A red-hot Scott Richmond (6-9, 5.03 for the season, but 0-7 and 88.50 in his last three starts) faces James Shields in the opener, while Ricky Romero and Matt Garza battle tomorrow and Doc Halladay and David Price wrap things up Sunday.

Following the three-gamer in Tampa Bay, the Jays are back at Rogers Centre for three against Baltimore and four against Seattle to close out the home schedule. Over/under on total attendance for the seven games: 110,000.

    Well played.

    Fuck the Rays.

  3. I hate that place. Still my third favourite AL East team, after Toronto and Baltimore, though.

  4. I love the Rays.

    Though luck.
