Rios debuts with Sox, who (not surprisingly) fail to score a run

Looks fine to me...

Looks fine to me...

Alex Rios made his White Sox debut last night, and get this — Chicago didn’t score a run in 14 innings! Alright, I suppose Rios can’t be blamed for every sputtering offense, but time will tell if it’s a coincidence. Everyone’s favourite former Jay batted third and went 1-for-6 with a pair of strikeouts as the White Sox lost 1-0 to Seattle. Ken Griffey Jr. did the extra inning honors for the Mariners, driving a ball off the right field wall with two outs in the bottom of the 14th.

Meanwhile, the Jays let another one slip away in New York yesterday afternoon, falling 4-3 in 10 on Robinson Cano’s walk-off single off…guess who — Shawn Camp! Camp has been solid this season, but he sure has a knack for letting tie games get away in extras. The Reign Man fell to 1-6 with the loss, even though his 3.02 ERA is one of the best in the Jays’ nightmarish bullpen. Thankfully, Toronto is off today before heading to Tampa Bay for a three-game set that starts tomorrow night. Dr. Roy Halladay will be on the hill against James Shields.
