Elbow injury proves to be a real Litsch

Well, soon you can add Jesse Litsch to the list of Blue Jays pitchers to have had their arms re-wired — it was announced tonight he’s set to have Tommy John surgery after recurring elbow pain in his attempted rehab from a forearm injury suffered April 13. Litsch was throwing off flat ground in Dunedin and hoping to make some rehab starts in the near future, but a recent visit to the famed Dr. Andrews led to the decision to slice the fat bastard up.

With the expected recovery time 12-to-18 months, Litsch is a longshot to be ready to go for the beginning of next season. Then again, B.J. Ryan came back pretty quickly from Tommy John surgery. We all know how well that’s turned out…
