If Adam Lind Ruled The World (Imagine That)

Well, at least we know this road trip isn’t going to go as bad as the last. The Jays began a four-game series in Texas tonight and snapped a nine-game road losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Rangers. Adam Lind did a great deal of the damage on his own, hitting a pair of two run home runs off Texas starter Scott Feldman, also known as Bizarro Kramer.

It’s a bit of a relief to start the mini road trip with a win, and it comes against a Rangers team that has played suprisingly well this season, especially at home of late. Casey Janssen bounced back from a nightmarish outing against the Angels last week, shutting out Texas’ potent offense through five before running into trouble and failing to get out of the sixth. Jason Frasor, Brandon League and Scott Downs combined to shut out the Rangers over the final three-and-two-third innings.

As for Lind, he has officially taken over the title “The Man” now that LeBron James is out of the picture for the next few months. With a 2-for-4 showing tonight, he’s now 13-for-25 in his past six games with three homers and what should’ve been about 100 RBIs had the two unnamed outfielders hitting in front of him reached base a few more times. Nevertheless, the guy is flat out mashing — .313 with 11 homers and 43 RBIs on the season.
