Wade scores 55, still not my kind of guy

Dwyane Wade, splitting the Knicks' tight D

Dwyane Wade scored a career-high 55 points last night against the Knicks — a nice feat, even with the opponent considered. Anyway, this, from the Associated Press’ game recap:

As the final moments ticked away in the greatest scoring show of his career, Dwyane Wade was summoned to the New York Knicks’ bench for a quick word.

“It’s kind of ridiculous,” Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni told him, “that you’re this good.”

Yeah, that’s quite a compliment, especially coming from a defensive guru like D’Antoni. After all, Wade is only the third player to score 50+ points against New York in the past two-and-a-half months. Also ridiculous, though not mentioned by the Knicks coach, are the following:

– The spelling of Wade’s first name — “Dwyane” (no word on whether or not Isiah Thomas’ mom filled out the birth certificate)

– Wade received a Father of the Year Award at the National Father’s Day Convention in 2007. Since then, he’s “abandoned his children, committed adultury, and infected her (his ex-wife) with an unspecified sexually transmitted disease”, according to allegations.

– Those stupid band aids he wore, prior to them getting banned.

– His team one something like three games last season in the star-studded Eastern Conference.

Okay, so I’m not a D-Wade fan. Sure, he’s a good player and all, but something about a guy that treats women worse than Kobe did in his prime just doesn’t sit well with me…
