Congratulations to Cleveland’s Trevor Crowe, who set a major league record this afternoon by becoming the fastest player to snap a bat over his knee following a strikeout, doing so in just his seventh big league at-bat. The previous low was eight, accomplished by former Blue Jay Eric Hinske. Hinske’s feat, however, is still considered more significant by many, since he also tossed the jagged bat into the stands, flipped a cooler and spit in a child’s face.
