I’m out!

Today, a personal note. If you’re a part of any fantasy league, I’m sure you can relate:

I traded away the future of my team and all I got was this sack of excrement

Oh fantasy basketball season, why did you have to end in the first round of the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year? It’s Tim Bentum’s fault for telling me Jason Terry was out for the season, forcing my hand in a trade and then having him return to action that very night. But I suppose it’s also my fault for trading John Salmons for Luol Deng and Peja Stojakovic, who played a combined three games for me since the deal. And I also traded my top pick next year for Charlie Villanueva — I should’ve known better. Now I’m stuck without a pick until the fourth round next season, and it’s not looking much better the next year either. Oh well, if I start rebuilding now I may be back in contention by 2015.

Congratulations to the legendary Brent Minty for ending my season, joining Eric Bulthuis (2008) and Darren Sinke (2006 and 2007) in what is turning into a long line of owners to have done so in the first round. Just call me Tracy McGrady, who not-so-coincidentally was a member of my team for much of this frustrating season.

Not all hope is lost, though. With every ending comes a new beginning — I have a fantasy baseball draft at five this evening, and I never lose in fantasy baseball.
